Since its founding in 1991, the choir has showcased the rich, emotional power of gospel music, a uniquely American genre that combines soulful melodies with powerful storytelling.

Under the direction of Dexter Criss, the choir’s artistic leader since 2001, PSGC has become a cornerstone of both SUNY Plattsburgh and the local community. They perform regularly on campus and throughout the region, averaging 25 performances annually.
